Welcome to Scottish Country Dances
Fergus and Flora are two virtual dance teachers who saw the need for dancers to come to grips quickly on how to do a dance. So much embarrassment has been caused over the years with party goers not understanding how a dance goes. They are keen that people attending dances enjoy themselves and don’t feel lost. That’s why they are keen to share their experiences with you.
When Auld Lang Syne is announced, you can sing it where you are or form a circle for the whole party holding hands on both sides of you for the first verse and chorus. For second verse and chorus, cross hands in front of you to complete the ending of what was a great evening.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne?
Chorus
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne
And there’s a hand my trusty fiere!
And gie’s a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right gude-willie waught
For auld lang syne.
(Chorus)
